Irish architects have completed some of the most innovative work ever seen in the sector, according to Roger Dunwoody, Chairman of the trustees of the Construction Industry Federation and member of the Bank of Ireland Opus Architecture & Construction Awards 2008 panel of assessors.
The Bank of Ireland Opus Awards recognise excellence in design and construction by architects and contractors. The judging process involves two initial sessions in which the five expert judges assess entries and draft a short list.
Green Road, Dalkey
This project consisted of renovation of a typical terraced soingle story Dublin 8 house.
It included a large sunken extension to the rear which allowed a two story extension and court yard in the centre of the house. Another of our projects that was nominated for awards.
This award winning project in D6 was completed in 2006 consisting of a rear single and two story extension along with complete refurbishment of the existing house and attic conversion. Several quality features include terrazzo flooring,flush window reveals with hanging enginered bricks using tradional lime mortar.
